Got a question?

Everything you need to know about our daycare...

What ages do you accept?

We welcome both puppies and adult dogs. All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations for their age.

What does a daycare day involve?

We collect your dog from home (or another convenient location) and transport them safely to our secure site in Little Burstead. Our days are calm and structured, balancing play, rest, and enrichment to support happy, settled dogs. We provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, while carefully avoiding overstimulation.

Is Lucky Pups Essex licensed?

Yes - we are a fully licensed, five-star rated facility and are fully insured.

How do you keep dogs safe?

Our purpose-built facility is secure and closely supervised, with high standards of care, hygiene, and handling at all times.

Can my dog attend if they’re new to daycare?

Yes. New dogs are introduced gradually and at their own pace to help them feel comfortable and confident.

How does booking and payment work?

Clients are asked to submit their required dates at least one month in advance so we can organise our diary. Spaces are confirmed once the invoice has been paid. Any additional days are subject to availability.

How do I enquire or book?

You can get in touch via our contact form, email or phone to check availability and make a booking.

What are your pick-up and drop-off times?

Pick-up is typically between 8:00am and 10:00am, and drop-off is between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

Times may vary slightly depending on your location and our daily route.

Do you offer owner drop-offs at your site?

No - we operate a collection and drop-off only service. This helps keep the environment calm for the dogs and allows us to manage our day more efficiently.

Do I need to be home for pick-up and drop-off?

Not necessarily. Many clients provide us with a key, which is kept securely, or use a key safe so we can collect and return their dog while they’re out.

What areas do you cover?

We currently serve Billericay, Basildon, Laindon, and surrounding areas. This helps us keep travel time to a minimum and ensure a smooth, efficient route for all dogs in our care.

How are dogs transported?

Dogs travel in our fully ventilated, crate-fitted van to ensure they are safe, secure, and comfortable during every journey.

What happens on my dog’s first day?

Your dog’s first day is designed to be calm, safe, and stress-free. It includes:

  • Collection from your home (or another convenient location)

  • Introduction to the group

  • Supervised play and rest periods

  • Updates from us throughout the day

  • Return home, safe and sound!

Is your daycare right for every dog?

Our daycare is designed for social, well-balanced dogs who enjoy being around others in a calm, structured environment. To keep all dogs safe and happy, we carefully assess every new dog before welcoming them into the group.

Our daycare is best suited to dogs who:

  • Are friendly and relaxed around other dogs

  • Are comfortable in small group environments

  • Can settle and rest between play sessions

As we operate with a small team and maintain a low dog-to-handler ratio, we may not be the right fit for every dog - particularly those who need more one-to-one support or a different environment.

If we feel another setting would suit your dog better, we’ll always be honest and happy to point you in the right direction. Our priority is always the wellbeing of every dog in our care.

Do you offer trial days?

Yes - all new dogs attend a trial day before joining our regular daycare. This helps us ensure they’re comfortable, happy, and a good fit for the group. 🐾
